Players

A player considering joining one of our competitive teams must be willing to commit the time to participate with the team year round, including traveling to compete in soccer tournaments or other team developing events.

All players must attend tryouts where their skill level evaluated by the club coaches. Tryouts take place starting January and continue through spring season or by appointment on the Cesar Chavez School field. To tryout out for one of our existing teams, please contact us.

During the tryout time, players practice with the team, but do not play in official games. New players accepted into a team will go through a registration process to satisfy the requirements of playing in RYSC and in the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA). Players with their parents, must complete registration with the RYSC Registrar.

Players should continue to grow and develop along with the team and there must be continued commitment and support from parents. Players should strive to earn their place on their teams. A player who is not improving along with the team or becomes unmotivated or unable to continue the level of commitment required, will be given the option of returning to play in RYAA’s rec soccer league. The player may tryout for the team again after one fall season in rec.

Prior to every fall season, returning players will need to update their account information and photos. This will also be done with the RYSC Registrar. If you have questions about any of this, please speak with your team’s manager.
